Doxie Trails is a small family breeder in West Haven, Utah, near Ogden. Our dogs are family pets first. They live in the house with us, hike the trails with us, and curl up on the couch with us at night.
Every pairing is planned around health, temperament, and a sound, sturdy build. Each parent is health tested before they are ever bred, and we share the results with every family.
Our puppies are handled every day, so they are used to kids, visitors, and everyday household noise by their go home day.

Health is the foundation of our program. Every parent is DNA tested with a Wisdom Panel or Embark genetic panel before they are bred, so we can make careful pairings and give our puppies the best start.

Why We Never Pair Two Dapples
A puppy with two copies of the dapple gene, called a double dapple, can be born blind, deaf, or with eye defects.
Genetic testing also finds hidden dapples, so a dapple is always paired with a solid colored dog. About half the puppies can be dapples, and no double dapples are possible.

Delivery
We are about 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Puppies travel in the cabin with a person, never in cargo.

Getting Your Puppy Home
01Meet Us at SLC
You book your own flights
Fly into SLC and we meet you at the airport on your puppy's go home day. You fly home together with your puppy in a carrier under the seat in front of you.
02Flight Nanny
We provide the flight nanny. You pay the flight costs.
Our flight nanny flies with your puppy in the cabin to a major airport near you and hands your puppy to you in person.
03Pickup at Home
No travel cost
Pick up your puppy at our home in West Haven, near Ogden. You can meet the parents while you are here. Visits are by appointment.
Flying Into SLC
- Book your flights. Add an in-cabin pet to your return flight when you book, since airlines limit pets on each flight.
- Bring a soft-sided carrier that fits under the seat in front of you.
- Meet us at SLC. We bring your puppy, the health certificate and records, and some of their food.
- Fly home together and send us a text when you land.
Flight Nanny Delivery
- Tell us your airport. Send us the closest major airport to you.
- Approve your flight quote. You pay the flight costs on our Deposits & Payments page.
- Health certificate. Our veterinarian examines your puppy and signs the certificate the airline requires.
- Meet your puppy at the airport. We send updates along the way.
Common Questions
How old is my puppy on their go home day?
At least 8 weeks old. Some airlines require puppies to be older, so we set the go home day around your airline's rules.
Are flight costs included in the puppy price?
No. If you meet us at SLC, you book your own flights. If you choose flight nanny delivery, you pay the flight costs and we provide the flight nanny.
Will my puppy ever fly in cargo?
No. Your puppy always flies in the cabin with you or our flight nanny.
Stud
Service
We offer fresh chilled semen from our health tested dogs, shipped overnight to approved females. Ask us which of our dogs are available for stud.

How Stud Service Works
01Send an Inquiry
Share your female's registration and genetic panel results. Reach out about a month before her season.
02Sign the Contract
Once your female is approved, sign the stud service agreement and pay the stud fee.
03We Ship When She Is Ready
Let us know when your female is ready. We collect and send fresh chilled semen by overnight delivery.
04Breed Your Female
Use the semen within 24 to 48 hours of arrival, then keep us posted on how it goes.

We do not offer on-site breedings or frozen semen.

$500 on Venmo reserves an available puppy or your place on an upcoming litter.
02Sign Your Contract
Print and sign your puppy purchase agreement. We confirm your go home day.
03Pay Your Balance
Due on your go home day, or before flights are booked, on Venmo, using the button above.
Deposit Policy
Is the deposit refundable?
No. The $500 deposit is non-refundable and is applied to your puppy's price.
How do I know a payment request is really from Doxie Trails?
We only take payment through our Venmo, @Nicura-Thompson, or in person. We never ask for gift cards or wire transfers. If you are unsure, email [email protected].
